The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced a mass recruitment drive for teachers to fill positions as test setters and moderators within the examination body.

This recruitment drive is aimed at expanding the team of test development professionals at KNEC.

In a public notice published on January 23, the council stated that they are specifically targeting lecturers in this new initiative.

The notice stated that the council wishes to train, certify and recruit teachers, tutors and lecturers to be engaged in the development of examination and assessment tools for school and teacher education.

To qualify for these positions, KNEC has outlined certain requirements that applicants must meet.

Firstly, applicants must be conversant with the curriculum designs of the subjects they wish to apply for.

Additionally, applicants must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience.

They must also be qualified teachers of the subject they are applying for and be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Furthermore, applicants must hold a certificate of Good Conduct from the police.

The application process for these positions will be conducted online. Interested candidates are required to email the council at td@knec.ac.ke and attach scanned copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and recommendations from heads of their institutions.

Information about the application process can be accessed through the KNEC website.

Current contracted professionals already engaged by KNEC are not required to apply. Applications must be submitted by March 1.
