KNEC 28th Deadline For 2022 KCPE, KCSE Registration Is Fake, Says Official.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has clarified reports that have been widely circulated regarding the KCSE and KCPE registration deadlines.
Parents, teachers, and students were duped into believing that both public and private schools had until February 28 to register students for the national exams in 2022. KNEC has officially declared this report to be false and misleading.
An official from the Ministry of Education confirmed that the registration period for 2022 KCPE and KCSE candidates had not yet begun.
The official went on to say that the Ministry would communicate and make the registration timeline public at a later date.
This comes after a recent court ruling cleared the way for KNEC to merge all exam centres with fewer than 30 candidates. This is despite a parent’s application to allow students to sit in their respective institutions.

The parents contended that they would be burdened by additional costs, in addition to their dire economic situation as a result of the high cost of living.
However, High Court Justice Anthony Mrima ruled in favour of the examinations council.
KNEC defended the merger, claiming that it would improve candidate and examiner security and safety, address transportation issues, and reduce rising administrative costs.
The academic calendar for 2022 will include five national examinations, posing a challenge to all education stakeholders in terms of exam preparation and supervision.
