The duration allocated for each paper is explicitly indicated next to the paper name, and it is important to note that no extra time will be permitted.

Instructions and Guidelines

Instructions to Candidates

Candidates are reminded of the following essential instructions:

Arrive at the examination room 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Absolute punctuality is crucial, as latecomers may require a compelling reason and may not receive a paper if they are more than half an hour late.

Verify that the question paper they received matches the one they registered for.

Pay close attention to any general instructions on the first page of the paper.

Write their name and index number on the answer booklet.

Write on both sides of the paper, except in the margins.

Clearly indicate the question number at the beginning of each answer.

Utilize black or blue ink for writing; pencils are only allowed for diagrams. Candidates should bring mathematical and drawing instruments for subjects where they will be needed.

Carefully read each question to avoid wasting time on irrelevant information.

Submit their answer booklet promptly when instructed to do so.

Caution to Candidates

Candidates must adhere to the following cautionary rules:

  • Leaving the examination room before the allocated time is only permissible with special permission from the supervisor, and no question papers may be taken out of the examination room.
  • Written materials or answers should not be left in a position where other candidates can read them, as unfair assistance is strictly prohibited.
  • Communication between candidates or with outsiders in any form is strictly prohibited during the examination.
  • Possession of unauthorized materials or electronic devices, including cell phones, is strictly prohibited within examination centers.

Penalty for Examination Irregularities

The KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012 stipulates penalties for examination irregularities, including result cancellations and legal consequences. Candidates are strongly advised to uphold integrity and avoid any form of examination misconduct.
