KLB To Supply ECDE and TVET Learning Materials To Garissa Students.
The Garissa County Government and the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) have signed an agreement under which the latter will supply learning materials for Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Garissa County Secretary, Abdi Sheikh, welcomed the collaboration after receiving the partnership business model from KLB area sales and marketing representative, Ali Bille, and stated that it will go a long way in improving learning at the institutions.
According to the County Secretary, a solid foundation is essential for young students at the ECDE level as they progress to upper classes.
“I believe with this partnership in place, our pupils can look forward to a bright future, since they will have all that they require in their day to day learning,” Sheikh said.
“With quality learning materials, we expect to achieve good results and qualified students, who can fit into the emerging market,” he added.
He urged the institutions that would receive the materials to put them to good use.
“The Garissa County Administration under the leadership of Governor Ali Korane, remains committed in addressing the plight of teachers, stabilizing early learning and setting a strong base for education of our children,” Sheikh said.
The County Secretary urged the youth to attend tertiary institutions, stating that the County requires such personnel.
“As a County, we have pumped in a significant amount of funds to improve infrastructure and equip these institutions,” he said.
According to Bille, the partnership has additional benefits such as capacity building for ECDE teachers on the new Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
