Kisumu Boys KCSE Candidates Arrested Smoking Bhang in School
On Monday evening, four candidates for Kisumu Boys Secondary School were arrested on allegations of marijuana use.
The police accused the four candidates of forcibly entering a room with a master key before gathering in a corner to smoke.
Before being released, three candidates, all aged 18 and one aged 17, were detained temporarily at the Kisumu Central Police Station, where they gave a statement.
Peter Mulai, the police commander of Kisumu Central sub-county, confirmed the incident and stated that the students were released on cash bail following the intervention of their parents and teachers.

Mulai further stated that parents and teachers reached a consensus to permit the students to complete the remaining examinations before the inquiries into the matter commenced.
Four suspects are scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on November 24, following the conclusion of exams. The two individuals will be charged with possession of illegal substances and breaking into a locked room, according to the police.
In addition to the four candidates, 46 students will be charged after the examination period.
Ezekiel Machogu, cabinet secretary for education, has pledged to sanction several students and teachers who are believed to be engaging in exam malpractice.

Early next year, Machogu is anticipated to disclose KCSE results.
