Kirinyaga Teacher ‘Unexpectedly’ Gives Birth To Triplets
A triple blessing unfolded at Kirinyaga treatment centre in Kagio, Kirinyaga County, as a 33-year-old woman, Mrs. Magdalene Muthoni, welcomed three healthy triplets on Saturday. Muthoni, a teacher at Kiaga primary school in Kirinyaga central, initially anticipated twins based on earlier scans.
Expressing her surprise at the unexpected addition, Muthoni conveyed her gratitude to the hospital staff for ensuring a safe delivery. With an eight-year-old son already in her care, she joyfully remarked on the miraculous gift of her second delivery.

“I was shocked when I learned that a third one was coming. I am very happy and I thank the hospital staff for helping me to deliver safely. Most of all I thank God,” said Muthoni who already has an eight-year-old boy.
Director Margaret Gaku, leading the Kirinyaga treatment centre management, confirmed the successful delivery of three baby girls. Gaku assured that both the mother and the newborns are currently under observation and are in good health.
The triplets, each weighing 2.7 kg, 1.7 kg, and 2.4 kg respectively, have been deemed healthy by the hospital. Despite the joyous occasion, Muthoni finds herself in need and is appealing to well-wishers for assistance in caring for her newborns.
