KCSE Candidate Dies In Exam Room.
A candidate collapsed and died before the start of English Paper One in Kipkelion West, Kericho.
On Monday, Victor Kipkoech, a student at Chilchila Secondary School, collapsed in the examination room.
Kericho county commissioner John Kamua said he was rushed to Fort Ternan Subcounty Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“We are yet to know from the candidate’s family if he was suffering from any health condition which could have caused his demise,” he said.
According to the county commissioner, the candidate showed no signs of illness prior to the start of the examination.
Karungo stated that the rest of the candidates at the school are taking their exams as the information about the incident is being handled properly so that other students are not anxious.
According to hospital staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the candidate’s parents reported that he has been in good health throughout and has not shown any signs of illness.
The county commissioner, on the other hand, revealed that the rest of the students were taking the exam and that the death of one of their own was being managed so that it did not cause anxiety among the other candidates.
The KCSE exams continued without a hitch in the county’s other examination centers.
