KCPE Rehearsals Conclude As Misinstry Sets Strict Measures To Curb Exam Cheating.
On Monday, Class 8 students will begin their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.
Students who went through rehearsals on Friday will begin with Mathematics, English, and Composition.
Science, Kiswahili, and Insha will be given on Tuesday, and Social Studies will be given on Wednesday.
During rehearsals, school administrators inspected exam materials to be used by students.
Several measures have been put in place to combat exam malpractice.
For example, no coloured geometrical sets will be permitted in the exam room.
Students who had this type of set were required to remove the materials and place them in a colourless sachet.
Any stickers, including the price and serial number, should also be removed from the sets.
In addition, schools have provided white thread strips to be used during Social Studies exams.
Students have also been instructed to remove any boxes or papers that cover their rubbers and sharpeners.
Clipboards, even clear ones, are no longer permitted in the exam room.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha oversees the rehearsals of KCPE 2021 candidates of Kimunyu Primary School in Gatundu, Kiambu County.
Subcounty directors and deputy county commissioners will be required to open the exam containers at the specified time as well.
The exam materials will be handed over in person to the center managers, who will be escorted by armed police officers.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha also announced that no politician will be allowed to enter any public or private learning institutions until all 2021 exams have been completed.
Magoha also prohibited all politicians from holding rallies or visiting schools until the exams, which are set to begin on Monday next week, are completed.

The CS made the announcement today while inspecting the preparations of Kimunyu Primary School class eight students in Gatundu South, Kiambu County.
Magoha advised politicians to alternatively hire stadiums constructed across the country for their political events and insisted that the candidates must be allowed to sit for their exams in a friendly and serene environment devoid of politicking.
The CS at the same time revealed that centre managers who have been consolidated to manage exams elsewhere will be fairly remunerated.
