KCPE Marking and Results Release Date Out
Kenya’s Basic Education Principal Secretary, Belio Kipsang, announced on Wednesday that the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) papers will be marked and their results will be released before Christmas.
According to Kipsang, the Ministry of Education will release the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) by Christmas, but the KCPE will be the first priority.
On Wednesday, the PS received a briefing on the ongoing national examinations and commended all the examination administrators for ensuring a smooth process.

Kipsang noted that due to pending tasks, children would need to return to school in January, and as a result, the prioritization of KCPE was necessary. He also noted that parents will know about their children’s school admission before the Christmas festivities.
He also observed that the transition to secondary schools, with just under 11,000 centers, could be more efficient than the primary school experience in terms of deployment.
Kipsang emphasized that the government will spare no effort to ensure the timely marking and release of exams. During the marking process, there will be two shifts to ensure a smooth and on-schedule operation.

The KCPE and KPSEA exams commenced on October 30, 2023, and concluded on November 1, 2023. On the first day of the exams, President William Ruto oversaw the administration of the tests at Kikuyu Township Primary School in Kiambu County.
A total of 1,415,315 candidates took the KCPE exams, while 1,282,574 candidates sat for their KPSEA assessments. This marked the end of the KCPE exams in the country after 38 years, as the government aims to transition towards a more practical education curriculum.
