KCPE, KPSEA Exams: 5 Candidates Deliver Babies, Another Overcomes Leg Fracture

As students in Kenya commenced their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations on Monday, remarkable tales have arisen, as shared by local authorities.

In Makueni County, a KCPE candidate managed to defy the odds by giving birth on the same day she was scheduled to take her exams. At the Mother and Child Hospital in Wote, she sat for her examinations with her newborn baby beside her, under the close supervision of relevant authorities.

Similarly, in Kitui County, another candidate at Mwingi Primary School experienced labor pains, leading to an immediate transfer to Mwingi Level IV Hospital. There, she delivered her baby and continued her exams, all within the hospital premises.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old girl from Kagondi Primary School in Kitui gave birth at Muthale Mission Hospital on Sunday, October 29, and then proceeded to take her mathematics paper in the same hospital on the early morning of Monday.

However, not all stories had such positive outcomes. A KCPE candidate from Emivia Primary School in Kitui went missing from her home on the day of her mathematics exam, along with her three-month-old baby. Efforts are currently in progress to locate her and ensure her well-being.
