
KCB Scholarships to Benefit 100 Students With Disabilities
100 students with physical disabilities will receive full scholarships for four years of secondary education from the KCB Foundation.
This group will be among the 1,000 students who will benefit from a program that targets 50% females.
In an advertisement, KCB Foundation announced that it will conduct interviews in multiple counties for its 2023 class.
The advertisement stated, “Interviews will be conducted in all counties on 13 and 14 January in selected learning institutions.
"KCB Foundation provides high school education scholarships for bright but marginalised and disadvantaged boys and girls, teenage mothers, girls rescued from early marriages, boys from areas affected by cattle rustling, FGM champions and areas with high poverty indexes."
Beneficiaries receive payment for tuition, learning materials, transportation, and shopping.
In addition to providing psychological support through mentorship opportunities at the High School, Apprenticeship, and University/Tertiary education levels, the Foundation offers psychosocial assistance at the High School, Apprenticeship, and University/Tertiary
Meanwhile, the selection of scholarship recipients for the Wings to Fly initiative has already begun.
Students who are slated to enter Form 1 in February will have the chance to be selected and participate in interviews.
Beneficiaries must have earned at least 350 points.
The program Wings to Fly is a collaboration between the Equity Group Foundation and Equity Bank.
The initiative also receives additional financial support from KfW, the Mastercard Foundation, USAID, UKAid, private institutions, and individuals.
Since 2010, the program has expanded to offer 20,000 scholarship opportunities.
The scholarship is a comprehensive secondary school scholarship program for pupils from all Kenyan counties who are academically brilliant but financially disadvantaged.
The scholarship program has reached its thirteenth year.
