We extend our warm greetings to you from Kakamega School. We hope this letter finds you well. Kakamega School is pleased to formally invite your school to participate in our upcoming Symposium, Contest, and Math Talk scheduled for Saturday, 24th February 2024, starting at 8:00 a.m.

Event Details:

• Date: 24th February 2024
• Time: 8:00 a.m.
• Venue: Kakamega School, Tsalwa Road, P.O BOX 90, Kakamega, Kenya

Objectives: The main objective of this event is to expose Form 3 and Form 4 students to setting trends in mathematics and the best concept-based revision strategies. Form 1 and Form 2 students will engage in a contest, followed by an orientation on the mathematics syllabus and techniques for handling various mathematics concepts through guided group discussions and presentations.

Contest Categories: The contest will be conducted in four categories: Form 1, Form 2, Form 3, and Form 4. Each school is encouraged to register as many teams as possible, with each team comprising 10 students per form. The registration fee is Ksh. 2000 (two thousand shillings only) per team of 10 students.

Program Highlights:

• Contest tests for Form 1 and Form 2 will conclude at 10:00 a.m.
• Coordinated discussion groups (symposium) for Form 1 and Form 2 students.
• Math talk for Form 3 and Form 4 students by senior and experienced mathematics teachers.

Awards:

• Trophies, certificates, and other prizes for the best individual students per form, best group presenter, best mixed school, best girls’ school, best boys’ school, and best overall school.

Certificates: Certificates of participation will be awarded based on merit to all participants.
