Kabianga High School’s Academic Tactics To The Top

Kabianga High School’s Academic Tactics To The Top.Kabianga High School has emerged as one of the most sought-after schools in the recently concluded Form One selection for the umpteenth time. The national school in the Belgut constituency received a record 142,640 applications from the KCPE class of 2021. It only admitted 480 Form One students in the end.Chief Principal Joash Aloo argued that the school is a dream school for students because of its four-year KCSE growth trajectory. It all began in 2018 with a mean score of 6.9221, followed by 2019 (7.7608) and 2020 (8.9968).The school received a mean score of 9.3467 in the 2021 KCSE results, which Dr Aloo described as the best in the school’s 33-year history. There were 15A (Plain), 71 A-minus, 89 B (plus), 79 B (plain), 48B (minus), 34 C (plus), and 13C students at the school (plain). According to Aloo, the results resulted in a 9.28 percent transition to university. He attributed the school’s success to early syllabus coverage and the hiring of experienced and seasoned teachers.“The candidates also write three joint examinations with academic giant schools such as Kakamega, Mbita, Kanga and Butere High School,” said Aloo. For mathematics, which is the students’ favorite subject, candidates take a weekend mathematics speed test, after which the top students are rewarded with prizes.“We also have a Hero’s Class which comprises candidates struggling to score above the university grade. The best experienced and seasoned teachers are assigned the class,” said Dr Aloo. All of the candidates in the Hero’s class in the 2021 class received a C or higher, which was the school’s final grade.Aloo attributed the KCSE’s outstanding performance to the schools’ deliberate efforts to create a leaner environment and a broader curriculum. The principal, who began his tenure at the school in June 2015, described it as a school with modest facilities but a rich history.“The onus was to turn around the school into an attractive learning environment and a center of excellence,” said Aloo.According to him, the school has a supportive Board of Management (BOM) and a strong parent association. Aviation, Electricity, Drawing and Design, Wood Work, Music, French, and German are just a few of the subjects covered in the school’s diverse curriculum. At the Kenya Secondary School Sports Association in 2019, the school represented the Great Rift Valley region. The school’s rugby 15S team competed in national competitions in Mombasa.Thomas Okeyo, Idd Kanguma, and David Williams were members of the Kenya National Team Rugby 15’s and Safaricom 7’s in 2019.ALSO READ:“Okeyo won a scholarship to Join University of Johannesburg courtesy of his excellence in sports,” said Dr Aloo. The school has also participated in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
