About Sunshine Secondary School
Sunshine Secondary School is seeking to recruit a highly competent, committed, motivated, and experienced Music Teacher to join our team on a fixed-term renewable contract. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about music education and can inspire students to achieve excellence in their musical endeavors.
Main Purpose of the Job
The Music Teacher will be responsible for teaching both theory and practice of general music as part of the school curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach general styles of music.
- Instruct students in classical piano, including both practical and theoretical aspects.
- Teach singing to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
- Incorporate musical instruments and movement into lessons.
- Plan and implement a program of instruction and lesson plans.
- Prepare students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
- Prepare students for practical exams and assessments.
- Inspire and motivate students in their musical journey.
- Build relationships and mentor students in music education.
Knowledge, Experience, and Personal Attributes
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
- Certification: TSC registration certificate.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience with a proven track record of good performance.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in choral pedagogy.
- Ability to set and mark examination papers.
- Current certificate of good conduct.
- Being a trained examiner is an added advantage.
Personal Attributes
- Skillful in playing musical instruments and planning concerts for student participation.
- Ability to create and manage after-school music clubs.
- Hands-on individual with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong service mentality.
- Excellence in singing and playing musical instruments.
- Strong communication, time management, and planning skills.
- Decisive and proactive.
- Flexibility to work outside normal working hours.
