HELB Opens Applications for 2024-2025 Postgraduate Scholarships

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) is now inviting applications for the 2024-2025 Postgraduate Partial Scholarships.

This opportunity is available to Kenyan students who are currently enrolled in Master’s and PhD programs at local public or private universities recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Scholarship Details:

• Masters Program: Kshs. 200,000
• PhD Program: Kshs. 450,000
• Duration: 2 years for Master’s and 3 years for PhD

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Admission Letter: Must provide a letter of admission into a full-time or part-time program at a CUE-recognized university.
2. Academic Standing: Minimum of Second-Class Upper Division.
3. Preferred Fields: Priority given to applicants in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines.
4. HELB Loan Status: If you are a HELB loan beneficiary, you must either be repaying your loan or have cleared it.

How to Apply:

1. Registration: Register and complete the 2024/2025 Postgraduate Scholarship Application form online. Access the form at www.hef.co.ke.
2. Submission: Submit the completed form online.

Important Notes:

1. Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of Kshs. 3,000 is required. Payment is made via E-CITIZEN upon clicking the payment tab on the portal.
2. No Third-Party Fees: Do not pay any individual for processing your application.
3. Encouragement: Applicants with special needs and those from marginalized counties are especially encouraged to apply.
4. Deadline: The application period closes on August 31, 2024.
