Grade 7 Girl Defiled, Murdered in Kasarani
Police in Nairobi are searching for a middle-aged man suspected of raping and murdering a nine-year-old girl in Kasarani. The victim was last seen with the man entering a building that was under construction on Monday.
Later, the man left the building looking suspicious and fled the scene. Residents then went to investigate and found the victim’s half-naked body, covered in bricks, prompting detectives to be called in.
A witness has reportedly given a physical description of the man, but the motive for the crime is currently unknown. The victim’s body has been moved to City Mortuary for postmortem and identification.
In a separate incident, two men aged 23 and 18 have been arrested in Kisasi, Kitui, for defiling a Grade 7 pupil who had been reported missing for almost a week. The matter is currently pending before a court.
Meanwhile, police in Dagoretti are investigating the death of a man named Harun Karani, whose body was discovered in his bed after he failed to report to work since April 20.
His colleagues went to his house to check on him and found him lying unresponsive on his bed with blood oozing from his mouth.
The police are yet to determine the cause of his death, and his body has been moved to the mortuary for further investigation.
