Govt to Employ 2,000 TVET Teachers

President William Ruto has announced that the government will hire an additional 2,000 teachers for Technical and Vocational Education and Training colleges (TVETs) across the country.

The hiring of 2,000 additional teachers for TVETs will also help to improve the quality of education and training for the youth.

During his visit at the Kisii National Polytechnic, the President commissioned a digital lab to enhance digital literacy among the youth.

Over 33 Technical and Vocational Training Institutes have received similar labs, and the President said that the training would pave the way for self-employment in the country.

He further stated that the Digital Empowerment Centres would be used to improve digital capacity among the youth and boost plans to digitise government services.

President Ruto spoke at the Kisii National Polytechnic and assured the students that his administration had allocated enough funds in the budget over the last two weeks to support student loans.

The President reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and using it as a critical pillar to transform the country’s economy.

The President’s efforts to strengthen higher learning and create employment opportunities for the youth continued as he commissioned the Kegati Water Project in Nyaribari Chache.

The project will serve both Kisii and Nyamira counties and is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs within one year.

President Ruto’s commitment to the education sector and employment opportunities for the youth is commendable.

The investment in digital literacy and the creation of Digital Empowerment Centres will further equip the youth with the necessary skills to thrive in the digital age.

The commissioning of the Kegati Water Project is also a significant step towards providing essential services and creating employment opportunities for the people of Kisii and Nyamira counties.
