Govt in Talks with China for Employment Opportunities, Urges Graduates to Apply for International Jobs
Ezekiel Machogu, Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, stated that the government is in discussions with China for assistance in equipping 70 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country.
When he presided over the 28th graduation ceremony for Moi Teachers College, Baringo, Machogu disclosed that President Dr. William Ruto will travel to China this month to ratify the agreement, which will also seek to secure employment opportunities for language teachers in the Asian nation.
In addition to China, he stated that there are numerous African and non-African nations in need of labor that Kenya can exploit.

The CS challenged colleges and universities at the middle level to educate students not only for local demand but also for global employment.
This year alone, the government has invested Sh. 630 billion in the education of Kenyans, according to Machogu, and the country must receive a return on these investments.
He stated that, as President Ruto often emphasizes, there is a need for decisiveness, influence, deliberation, and the development of specific programs to ensure that all graduates have meaningful opportunities after completing their education.
The Education CS urged continuing students to pursue their highest level of education and urged them not to abandon hope in life because the economic situation will improve.

He suggested that individuals should consider applying for job advertisements in foreign countries, as it would enable them to work abroad while maintaining contact with their families.
He urged Kenyans to support the government’s agenda, stating that the president has worked tirelessly to revive the ailing economy.
The CS mentioned that when he assumed the role, there were numerous debts and difficulties in meeting financial obligations. However, the country can now manage its expenditure responsibilities.
In his remarks, Baringo Central Member of Parliament Joshua Kandie urged local leaders to assist youth in accessing opportunities in the country and beyond.
Kandie stated that the youth need only acquire the necessary training and ensure they have their credentials on hand, as the appropriate time will arrive.
