Kenya is currently experiencing a notable breakthrough in international job opportunities with 2,500 nursing and healthcare positions in Saudi Arabia opening up for qualified Kenyan individuals.

This development stems from President Williams Ruto’s diplomatic engagements and negotiation efforts with international partners, aiming to provide lucrative employment prospects abroad for Kenyan job seekers.

Here are the details:

Vacancies:

  1. General Nurses
  2. Personal Assistants
  3. Healthcare Assistant Professionals

Collaboration: The government of Kenya is partnering with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to enhance safe, regular, and productive labor migration. This initiative has resulted in the employment of numerous Kenyans across different economic sectors in the KSA.

Requirements for Female Applicants:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in nursing.
  • Possess a valid police clearance certificate.
  • Age between 22-35 years.
  • Degree holders: minimum of two years of continuous service.
  • Diploma holders: fresh graduates with no experience.
  • Certificate holders: minimum of one year of continuous service.
  • Medically fit with proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Prometric test results and a data flow verification report.
  • Nursing council license or latest employment certificate.

Terms of Service:

  • Two-year renewable contract.
  • Eight hours of work.
  • Round-trip air ticket.
  • Overtime in accordance with the country’s labor laws.

Remuneration:

  • Degree holders: 3,500 SAR (Sh147,670).
  • Diploma holders: 3,000 SAR (Sh126,574).
  • Certificate holders: 2,200 SAR (Sh92,821).

Application Process: Interested individuals should register and apply through the National Employment Authority portal.

Shadrack Mwadime, the Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development, reported that aside from the healthcare roles in Saudi Arabia, Kenya has successfully finalized bilateral labor agreements with various nations, expanding opportunities for Kenyan professionals seeking overseas employment:

  1. Germany: Anticipates 250,000 job openings for Kenyan workers, creating a substantial avenue for employment.
  2. Israel: The agricultural sector provides 30,000 job positions, with 3,000 available for application as early as March.
  3. Serbia: Approximately 20,000 job opportunities in the construction and services sectors are accessible to Kenyan job seekers.
  4. Russia: Offers a diverse range of roles with 10,000 job positions currently available.
