Govt Acquires 82,000 Extra Exam Containers to Prevent Potential Leakage of Examination Materials

Interior Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo has revealed that the government has acquired an additional 82,000 containers to facilitate the close distribution of exams to various parts of the country.

To prevent any potential leakage of exam materials, the PS emphasized that all examination containers would be located at NGAO offices and guarded by security personnel around the clock.

“All the examination containers will be located at NGAO offices and will be manned by security personnel round the clock.”

He also warned students and everyone involved to adhere to the examination rules, as failure to do so would result in legal consequences.

This year, more than 3.5 million candidates will take their exams, which will run from October 30 to November 24. Among them, 1.4 million students will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE), 903,260 will take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE), and 1.2 million students will participate in the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).

Furthermore, authorities have revealed that they will deploy all secondary school teachers as examination officials away from their regular work locations as a part of a broader initiative to secure the national tests.

“The commission has identified and vetted a total of 223,000 teachers to serve as supervisors and invigilators. Additionally, we have identified 71,760 center managers who will be responsible for administering this year’s exams,” Antonina stated.

Raymond Omollo, the Interior Principal Secretary (PS), revealed that they have set up two command centers to manage malpractices and address emergencies.

He also mentioned the establishment of a support center at the CAK for coordinating and responding to issues and emergencies as they arise.

Omollo added that security committees and disaster and emergency response offices will coordinate logistics in areas affected by rainfall.
