Government expedites Passport Applications for Selected Kenyans; How to Apply.
The Directorate of Immigration Services announced intentions to expedite passport passports for Kenyans in dire need of the vital travel document.
In a statement from December 21, the State Department hinted that it would go after Kenyans trying to leave the country in the days to come.
In addition, the government agency announced that it would also examine submissions from applicants who had not yet received their papers.
The agency explained that several delays in recent months prompted the decision.

Consequently, the department discovered within the Ministry of the Interior contacted the impacted Kenyans via their telephone number.
The agency also cautioned that WhatsApp might be used to deliver messages.
“Applicants who have impending urgent travel or have not managed to process their passports are advised to contact the Directorate of Immigration Services via 0796374902.
Please include your tracking number and documents demonstrating the need for expedited processing, the statement stated in part.
The government office did not disclose the number of days required to process the document.The agency made the revelation after Kenyans protested the delays, prompting Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to make a surprise visit to the main offices in Nairobi.
Previously, the delays were attributed to a scarcity of printed pamphlets.
