Gianchere Secondary Students Protest Transfer of School Principal

Gianchere Mixed Boarding Secondary School in Kisii witnessed a student protest on Thursday as they expressed their dissatisfaction with the transfer of their school principal.

Approximately hundreds of students marched approximately three kilometers to the education office in Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache, urging the reinstatement of David Unoka Obonyo.

According to sources, students articulated their refusal to accept the new principal, citing alleged poor performance at his previous school. Those who shared their concerns with The Star emphasized the need for the reinstatement of David Unoka Obonyo.

The demonstration unfolded with students voicing their disapproval over the leadership change, specifically addressing their concerns about the performance of the newly appointed principal.

The protest took place at Gianchere Mixed Boarding Secondary School in Kisii, where students, in significant numbers, marched to the education office in Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache, to make their demands heard.

Students claimed that they rejected the new principal due to his purportedly inadequate performance at his previous school. Their primary objective during the protest was to call for the reinstatement of David Unoka Obonyo, the former school principal.

The discontent among Gianchere Mixed Boarding Secondary School students manifested in a demonstrative act on Thursday.

They walked a considerable distance of approximately three kilometers to the education office in Keumbu, Nyaribari Chache, to express their dissatisfaction with the transfer of David Unoka Obonyo and demand his reinstatement.

Voicing their objections to the leadership change, students alleged that the newly appointed principal’s track record at his previous school was subpar.
