Former TSC Staff Charged for Defrauding a Teacher KSh 800,000Former Teachers Service Commission (TSC) employee charged with fraud after defrauding a teacher of KSh 800,000.Between March 18 and March 20, 2021, Christopher Ivou Wambua obtained a sum of KSh 820,000 from Ernest Molit Boen under the guise of offering him a job.Christophe appeared before Resident Magistrate Caroline Muthoni of the Milimani Law Courts and pleaded not guilty to one count of obtaining money by false pretence in violation of the law.He was released on KSh 400,000 cash bail.“ You are charged that on diverse dates between the March 18th 2021 and May 20th 2021 within the republic of Kenya with intent to defraud you obtained from Ernest Molit Boen a total of Kshs 820.000 by pretending that you were in a position to offer teaching jobs under Teachers Service Commission, a fact you knew to be false,” read the charge sheet in part. According to a police report, the complainant was introduced to the accused person by his friend Tanui in March 2021.According to the report, he was told that the accused person, Christopher Wambua, was an employee of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and that he had connections for both local and international teaching jobs, particularly in China, Hong Kong, and Japan.ALSO READ:During the meeting, the accused was dressed in a TSC shirt and even had a job card claiming to be from TSC. The police were notified that a meeting had been scheduled, and the three (the accused, the complainant, and Tanui) met at a hotel within the Afya Centre building.“It was at this point that, the accused person informed them that he had only come with four forms which he purportedly said that they were from the Teachers Service Commission” the report further read.They agreed and made arrangements for payment, which was sent to the accused Mpesa Safaricom line on several occasions. Former TSC Staff Charged for Defrauding a Teacher KSh 800,000
