The Kenya Human Rights Commission has requested that the police conduct an investigation into a case in which a student was defiled at Aquinas High School.
Parents were arrested at the school during a protest against the school administration’s cover-up of the incident.
A senior teacher at St Aquinas High School in Nairobi’s Madaraka Constituency has been accused of covering up a sexual abuse case involving one of his students.
According to the parent of the young boy who is said to have become suicidal after the incident, when they stormed the school on Tuesday, 8th February 2022, in search of answers, the Chief Principal Mr Gathii Stephen Kamau told them off, saying their claims were baseless and aimed at destroying the school’s reputation.
The group is currently being held at the Central Police Station, where they are demanding justice.
St Aquinas High School had yet to issue a statement in response to the scathing allegations as of the publication of this post.
Children’s rights activist Ndugu Nyoro, who is also the founder of Affecto, a popular Kenyan foundation that sponsors academics of needy students, took Kenyans through the dramatic bizzare from the day he was sexually molested to doctor’s confirmation in a chilling narration.
“Meanwhile the form 1 boy almost committed suicide because of what he went through. A student made him his wife for a night,” narrates Ndugu Nyoro.
The form 1 student considered suicide because he was mentally tortured.

“His class teacher upon noticing he was very sick for days pretended he had school fees balance (which wasn’t the case) and released him to go home so he could be checked,” Nyoro added.
When his class teacher noticed he was sick, inquired, and learned of his ordeal, he pretended he had a school fee balance and granted him a leave of absence to go home for a checkup.
Man arrested for sodomizing stepson in Makueni
On Sunday in Kibwezi, Makueni County, a man was arrested for allegedly sodomizing his 12-year-old stepson.
The act is said to have been committed by the 35-year-old man after they had finished dinner.
“Narrating his ordeal to officers at Ulilinzi police post, the minor explained how the one man turned against him at night,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said in a tweet.
Following dinner, the suspect asked his stepson to share a bed with him in order to force himself on the boy.
According to the DCI, the suspect ordered the boy to shower immediately and warned him not to tell anyone about the ordeal.
However, the boy confided in his mother, who was not present on that fateful night.
“The mother escorted his son to make a formal report with the police,” DCI tweeted.
In Miangeni, the suspect was apprehended. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.

This incident occurred only four days after a similar case in Kibwezi Sub-county was reported. A man is accused of defiling his 11-year-old daughter on a pathway in the Mikuyuni Teachers area.
In the last five days, six defilement cases have been reported in Makueni. Parents and caregivers have been urged to pay attention to the concerning trend.
