Form One Orphan Reports To School With Empty Box.Geoffrey Omollo surprised the teachers of Kanga Boys School, a highly sought-after school in the region when he arrived with an empty box and begged not to be sent home.He did not meet the requirements for admission, but the fear of missing out on the opportunity, combined with a strong desire to learn, compelled him to report to the school. He arrived alone because he is a total orphan and demonstrated that not even a lack of funds would stand in his way.Other students arrived at the institution with shopping bags and other admission requirements but Omollo only had a dictionary, Kamusi, and a pair of sports shoes—both of which had seen better days. While others were being led by parents in long lines to be cleared, he was accompanied by his metal box bought through donation from neighbour and made his way to the admission block.Wondering how unfair society was, he vowed that he’d only be dragged out of school because he was there to learn.Teachers in charge of admissions were at a loss for words when they learned that the new student, who scored 387 points in KCPE but was determined to attend school at all costs, was a total orphan.“That’s all I could raise since I have no parent. Even the few books and shoes were donated to me by a neighbor whose son had completed high school, “he told Nation.ALSO READ:Kanga School Chief Principal Rueben Kodiango confirmed that the student had been admitted and that he would be provided with basic necessities while his school fee issue is investigated. He’s hoping that a well-wisher will come through for the boy soon.“We will accommodate him and provide the necessary learning materials.
