A Form Two student at Ndarawetta Girls’ Secondary School in Bomet Central committed suicide Thursday morning by jumping off the rooftop of their classroom.
Students attending their regular morning preps discovered the 20-year-lifeless old’s body. They notified the administration right away.
Musa Imamai, Commander of the Bomet Central Sub-County Police, stated that they received a report about the incident, prompting his investigating officers to visit the institution.
According to Imamai, preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was depressed and wanted to end her life. She left behind a suicide note.
He noted that she may have waited until the rest of the students had gone to bed the night before returning to the classroom to commit the act.
“Our investigation shows that she was disturbed… We found a note inside the locker in her classroom stating that she wanted to meet her God. She also wished her parents and family the best in life,” he said.
The school administration had yet to comment on the matter at the time of going to press.
To avoid such incidents, the police chief urged parents and teachers to provide regular counseling to students.
