Fires Destroy Property at Concord Boys and Ofafa Jericho High School
Investigations are underway into the fire that ravaged property at Concord Boys High School in Kapsoya, Eldoret this past Sunday.
The incident, which occurred while students were attending evening preps, resulted in the destruction of students’ belongings. The specific cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are actively looking into the matter.
During the same timeframe, Ofafa Jericho High School in Nairobi experienced a similar unfortunate event, where a fire broke out, leading to the hospitalization of 43 students.

The fire, which engulfed a dormitory, affected one wing of a four-storey building containing six cubicles, each equipped with 20 beds.
The affected students were promptly transported to Metropolitan Hospital, where they received medical attention and were subsequently discharged. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported.
Parents and guardians, concerned for the safety of their children, rushed to Ofafa Jericho High School. The school’s management addressed them, providing assurance regarding the well-being of the students.
Despite the efforts to contain the fire, the cause remains undetermined, and investigations by the authorities are ongoing in both incidents.
A county fire engine was deployed to Concord Boys High School, aiding in controlling the fire, while the police continue their efforts to establish the cause of the fires at both educational institutions.
