CS Machogu Urges VCs to Align University Programs with Labor Market Demands
In a bid to propel Kenya’s higher education sector forward, Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Ezekiel Machogu has called upon Vice Chancellors of public universities to embrace visionary, strategic-focused, and result-oriented leadership.
Dr. Machogu emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration not only within local higher education institutions but also on an international scale.

During a workshop themed “Developing Strategic-Focused and Result-Oriented University Leaders,” Dr. Machogu urged university leaders to ensure that academic programs offered by their institutions are in alignment with the evolving needs and expectations of the modern labor market.
He stressed the significance of equipping students with competencies and skills that are relevant and sought after by employers.
Accompanying the Education CS was Dr. Beatrice Inyangala, the Principal Secretary for Higher Education. Together, they emphasized the critical role that visionary and strategic leadership plays in shaping the future of higher education in Kenya.
