Class 8 Girl Dies by Suicide in Church

Rachuonyo East, Homa Bay County, police are investigating the suicide death of a 16-year-old girl in a church in Ogenga village.

The eighth-grade student’s body was discovered in a church close to her school.

According to the acting chief of Kasewe Location, Dickson Samba, the pupil departed her home at noon on Tuesday for an unknown destination, and her mother discovered her body hours later.

The circumstances surrounding her demise are still unknown, and her body has been moved to the Okita Nursing Home pending an investigation.

And in Migori, Students at a boarding secondary school were left in disbelief upon discovering one of their teachers hanging from a tree in their assembly area.

The teacher reportedly got into a fight with his wife and then went to a nearby bar to find solace, according to a police statement made public on September 12.

Following his night of drinking, the teacher returned to the school, gaining entry with the assistance of security personnel who were unaware of his suicidal intentions.

“He entered the school premises during the evening and proceeded to the assembly area, where he tragically ended his own life,” read a portion of the police statement.
