CEMASTEA Announces Virtual Training for Junior Secondary School Teachers
The Centre for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) has announced a comprehensive ICT training program tailored for Junior School (JS) teachers.
This initiative, scheduled from February 19th to March 4th, 2024, aims to enhance pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) among educators, particularly those redeployed from primary to junior school settings.

Recognizing the invaluable support of County Teacher Capacity Development Coordinating (CTCDC) bodies, CEMASTEA expresses its gratitude for their collaboration in facilitating its activities across various counties.
The training, which will be conducted virtually through the CEMASTEA portal and other online platforms, comprises synchronous sessions running from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. between February 19th and February 23rd, 2024, followed by asynchronous sessions from February 26th to March 4th, 2024.
Each county has been allocated a specific number of slots for teachers to participate, as detailed in Annex I of the circular issued to all CTCDC Chairpersons.

To ensure efficient processing, CEMASTEA requests the timely submission of lists of eligible teachers by the CTCDC. A data capture template, provided in Annex II, should be utilized for this purpose, with information to be sent in MS-Excel format to the designated email address: ceo@cemastea.ac.ke.
Particular attention should be paid to identifying teachers redeployed from primary to junior school roles in science and mathematics who have not previously received PCK training from CEMASTEA.
All submissions are expected to reach CEMASTEA no later than February 12th, 2024.
