Baringo KCSE Invigilator Arrested Over Exam Malpractice

The Baringo police investigation revealed that the KCSE invigilator at Ruth Kiptui High School was found in unauthorized possession of Business Paper 1. The inquiries commenced following the arrest of Sarah Ruto on Tuesday afternoon, immediately after the completion of the student’s examinations.

The authorities claim that the arrest was in response to intelligence reports of examination leakage at the facility.

Commander Fredrick Odinga of the Baringo North Sub-County Police reported receiving an allegation of exam malpractice at the school.

Odinga disclosed that after students completed Business Paper 1, the OCS, DCIO, and other police officers visited the school and frisked the invigilators, supervisors, and students.

They later discovered the suspect in possession of the purported materials.

“We were acting on a tip after receiving intelligence on the same. Our officers found one invigilator with written materials, and she was arrested for further investigations,” he said.

The suspect, according to the police report, asserted that sure students had their materials purportedly seized.

According to the police, the invigilator should have informed her supervisor of the concerns or surrendered the materials before their discovery.

Reports indicate that the invigilator hid the materials in her purse. However, authorities are actively investigating the administrators at the center, suspecting them of conspiring.
