B.O.M Cautioned Against Being Manipulated By School Principals
School Boards of Management (BOM) in the Marakwet West Sub-County have been instructed to be firm and to assume responsibility for the schools they represent.
Julius Ngoneshi, director of education for a sub-county, cautioned board members against being manipulated by principals who may seek to increase their power and take advantage of their position.
He noted that the board must understand its legal mandate to carry out its responsibilities.
In his address to board members at Marakwet Boys’ High School, he emphasized the importance of maintaining proper management to ensure high academic and social standards.
He asked them always to accept the new school principals transferred to their institutions, noting that transfers were standard government policies to improve service delivery.
He stated that members should protect the integrity of schools by praising their pupils and teachers and making their welfare a priority to achieve better results.
