“All students will transition to high school including those who were caught cheating.”- CS George Magoha.
Magoha, who announced the KCPE results on Monday, stated that all students, including those who were found to have irregularities and were given zero points in those subjects, are eligible to advance to the next level.
The CS went on to say that the Ministry of Education has already put measures in place to ensure a smooth transition to high school.
He praised parents and teachers for their tireless efforts in ensuring that exams were held despite the disruption to the school calendar caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Between Monday, March 7, and Thursday, March 10, 1,225,507 candidates took the 2021 KCPE exam. This represented a 2.83 per cent increase over the 1,191,752 candidates who took the exam in 2020.
As the government moves to implement its 100% transition to secondary schools, the candidates will be assigned to one of 10,359 public schools.
In order to make up for lost time due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Education released a one-of-a-kind calendar that included five national examinations for the current academic year. Students across the country missed nine months of school in 2020.
The calendar presented a challenge to education stakeholders, as teachers were forced to move quickly and complete the syllabus within the time frame specified.
Magoha had promised candidates that the national examinations would have a human face, despite the nine-month hiatus.
The Education Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition from primary to secondary school for all students.
“All of the children will transition to high school, you will ask why yet some were caught colluding but the law says that if a child is found colluding in primary school for that subject they get zero, but they will pay for it,” he noted.
