Adult candidates did not secure a spot in any public secondary school, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
According to Machogu, the Ministry has placed only eligible 2023 KCPE Examination participants in public secondary institutions.
This, he said, is in compliance with the Government’s policy of achieving parity in education.
The government used affirmative action to place 130 students in national schools and 167 in extra-county schools. There were 150 females and 147 boys in total.

The placement took into account the Djibouti Declaration of 2017 on Regional Refugee Education, ensuring the inclusion of learners from primary schools within refugee camps, in addition to affirmative action for needy and vulnerable children.
The placement process began immediately following the release of the 2023 KCPE results on November 23.
Machogu stated that the government has ample capacity to accommodate all 1.4 million KCPE applicants.
