Adolescent Girls Receive Sanitary Towels Donation From Varsity Students. In an effort to keep females in school, the Bonchari University Students Association (BUSA) and the Joshua Maragia Foundation donated sanitary towels to over 300 girls in Bomorenda ward, Bonchari Constituency.During the occasion at Botoro Primary School, the Association’s President, Fred Omache, stated that the sanitary distribution project aims to assist the area’s less poor females.“This project on sensitization and distribution of sanitary pads to adolescent girls, is meant to ensure those who are unable to access this commodity for themselves are kept in school,” said Omache.He invited local leaders and well-wishers in the region to work with them to reach more females in the region as a means of giving back to society.Omache stated that they were also interested in sensitizing the girls on gender-based violence.Moraa Benedict, the organization’s Gender Secretary, stated that the project will empower and uplift the girls by teaching them how to use sanitary towels effectively and appropriately.“This sanitary towels distribution project will help many girls to stay comfortable as they will be able to get them easily, especially for the less disadvantaged girls in the society,” added Benedict.She thanked the Joshua Maragia Foundation for assisting them in reaching as many girls as possible through the programme.Esther Moraa, one of the project’s beneficiaries, stated that they were unable to obtain the pads on their own owing to financial restrictions.ALSO READ:“I would like to thank the BUSA organization for helping those of us who are unable to afford these sanitary towels and may God bless you abundantly,” she said.Furthermore, BUSA Secretary General Wycliffe Omache stated that boys would not be left behind, as they aim to launch initiatives to educate them on stress management and how to connect with others in the community.Adolescent Girls Receive Sanitary Towels Donation From Varsity Students
