55 Students Storm Out Of School Protesting New Principal’s Rules
On Saturday, a group of 55 male students from Kaarani Mixed Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi County staged a walkout, expressing their dissatisfaction with the stringent regulations implemented by the recently appointed school principal.
A police report indicates that the boys, who have yet to return to the school, circumvented a barbed wire fence during their departure.

The new principal assumed office in October 2023, marking the onset of discontent among the students. In addressing the situation, the police report stated, “The officers managed the situation. No property damage or injuries have been reported thus far.”
Despite the protest, the authorities have reassured the public that the remaining 75 female students and 12 male students who opted to stay have resumed their regular academic routines.
The school continues its operations with a focus on maintaining a conducive learning environment.
