3000 Needy Students in Soy Sub County, Uasin Gishu, Receive Four-Year NGCDF Education bursary
The National Government Constituency Development Fund has awarded a four-year school bursary to at least 3000 disadvantaged children in Soy Sub County, Uasin Gishu.
Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat stated during the opening of the Soy Constituency NGCDF scholarship program that equality in the entire society begins with education. He did, however, state that Ksh 7 million will pay the scholarship’s first year.
This year, we successfully sponsored the education of 75 underprivileged children from across the constituency at Loreto Matunda High School for four years in order to provide equal opportunities and close social class gaps.

The organization is finalizing a sponsorship plan for 50-100 children per school in all 46 secondary schools, with the Sh7 million money reaching around 3000 needy students. The member emphasized his everlasting commitment to assisting students in the constituency with their studies.
He also mentioned that they are heading to the next batch of day schools, where they will receive the entire four-year scholarship. Each of the 46-day secondary schools nominated by bursars will receive 50 students.
Soy Bursary Chairperson Hillary Busolo stated in her remarks that the process was transparent and that only needy students benefited. The process was straightforward and fair, with the IEBC portal used to locate parents’ ID numbers and birth years and only Soy Constituency scholarships awarded.
Elsewhere, Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has pledged to create a fair and inclusive procedure that ensures bursaries are available to all people, especially minorities.
Governor Lomorukai remarked during the County Government’s end-of-year thanksgiving ceremony in Lodwar that initiatives are ongoing to digitize the distribution process for efficiency.
The governor’s comments came after worries that poor students had previously been denied bursaries that would have allowed them to continue their education.
Simultaneously, he told the business community that the County Government has begun measures to create a favorable business environment that encourages fair trade practices.

Governor Lomorukai reaffirmed his commitment to working with all stakeholders to boost business in the county, regardless of tribe or color.
The Governor stated that their government is fully committed to enhancing the quality of life for every individual in the county. They emphasized that the 9-point agenda established by their administration would serve as a guiding framework towards achieving a sustainable future.
Governor Lomorukai, who was joined by First Lady Lillian Ekamais, discussed his development objectives for the coming year, emphasizing important priority areas that will have a socioeconomic impact on Turkana citizens.
Governor Lomorukai praised the County Assembly for its support of the government’s development program through the passing of laws. He announced the provision of sh.60 million in development funding to each ward beginning in the next fiscal year.
The Governor pushed the Turkana Professional Association (TPA) leadership to be an independent group and move away from political affiliation.
The Governor emphasized his commitment to promoting harmony among the Ateker villages and other Turkana border communities. He stressed that his partnership with the National Government was intended to secure transformative development initiatives for the County.

Moroto Municipality Mayor Mohamed Ismael urged Ateker solidarity, emphasizing that a united front would better pass on the concerns of neglected communities to national governments.
Cecilia Ngitit, a Woman representative, asked Wananchi to take the lead in uniting elected leaders. She asked her colleagues in the National Assembly to put aside partisan differences and build a united front in order to take advantage of greater chances provided by the National Government.
MCAs defended their working relationship with the Governor, led by House Deputy Majority Leader Abdifatah Kapua, and denied that it was harming their oversight duty.
Dr. Albert Gamoe, Deputy County Secretary, Dr. Ekod Pauline, Ag. Chairperson for the Public Service Board, and County Executive for Public Service James Wangiros were also present, as were a number of Chief Officers and Directors.
