250 KCPE Students In Bomet To Benefit From Sh30 million Full Scholarship.
Bomet County Government has set aside Sh30 million for its scholarship program, which will benefit 250 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) students enrolled in various secondary schools.
Bomet Governor Prof Hillary Barchok made the announcement in Longisa, where he urged bright students from low-income families to apply for the scholarship, noting that they would be given priority.
Prof Barchok stated that the program, which began in 2018 with the late Governor Dr Joyce Laboso, has benefited over 1000 students.

He stated that the scholarship program was designed to provide bright students with over 350 KCPE marks with the same opportunity to obtain a basic education as others from well-to-do families.
At the same time, the Governor stated that 10 students will be chosen from each of the County’s 25 Wards and that students from both boarding and day secondary schools will be considered.

Prof. Barchok stated that the plight of deserving students gives meaning to bursaries and that the type of school a student is placed in should not influence the consideration of deserving cases.
