23-Year-Old Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Defiling 11-Year-Old Girl
In a recent court ruling, a 23-year-old man named Erick Matheka has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime of defiling an 11-year-old girl.
The verdict was delivered by Principal Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku at the Loitoktok Law Courts.
Matheka was charged with committing the offense on November 28 and 29, 2021, at the Isinet area.
The Victim’s Testimony
During the court proceedings, the young girl testified and shared her harrowing experience.
She recounted that on November 27, 2021, she went to fetch water and encountered Mama Ann, the mother of the accused, who was washing clothes at the time.
Mama Ann requested her assistance in carrying the clothes to her house, where she was subsequently locked inside.
The girl described how Mama Ann then called her son, the accused, into the house, where he proceeded to defile her.
Shockingly, she revealed that both the accused and his mother continued to confine her in the house, and the accused repeatedly subjected her to sexual abuse until the morning of November 29 when she was finally released and allowed to return home.
The Investigation
Meanwhile, the mother of the minor, Digna Festo, had already reported her daughter missing at the Isinet Police Station.
This prompted the police to initiate a search for the young girl. It was during this investigation that they discovered the involvement of the accused and his mother in the crime.
Both the accused and his mother went into hiding following the incident.
However, on June 25 of the following year, the authorities apprehended the accused and formally charged him with the offense of defiling a minor.
After a thorough legal process, the court reached a decision.
Taking into account the gravity of the offense and the detrimental impact it had on the victim, Erick Matheka was sentenced to life imprisonment.
