ABOUT NOVA PIONEER

Imagine a world where every child in Africa attends a school that actually prepares them for success in the 21st century.

A school that cares about its students as individuals and encourages them to explore the world.

The school prioritizes the development of skills over the memorization of knowledge.

At Nova Pioneer, we have done more than merely foresee the future; we are creating it.

Nova Pioneer is a pan-African, autonomous network of pre-primary through secondary schools offering high-quality, accessible education.

The institution employs a novel inquiry-based learning strategy that encourages students to ask “why” rather of being told “what.”

Through discovery, investigation, and collaboration, they are able to form their own ideas.

Nova Pioneer now operates 14 schools in South Africa and Kenya, with the goal of opening 100 schools and reaching tens of thousands of students on the African continent over the next decade.

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Principal responsibilities of the role include:

Offer children a safe and secure environment in which they can feel at ease.

Plan and implement daily activities for the children in accordance with the curriculum, work schemes, and lesson plans.

Provide children with a variety of materials and resources to explore, manipulate, and employ in both learning activities and imaginative play.

Instruct and supervise students on the proper use and order of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and property loss.

Organize and direct physical, mental, and social development-promoting activities, such as games.

Prepare materials, classrooms, and other indoor and outdoor environments to promote imaginative play, learning, and motor skill development, as well as safety.

Observe and assess the development of each student, and make a written report to the principal, other school administrators, and parents.

Monitor and maintain records/reports of the progress and development of the youngsters.

Individualize and teaching-teach students according to their various needs and interests, adjusting instructional students accordingly.

Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, assisting them in removing outerwear, and providing activities that they find engaging.

Establish and implement conduct standards and procedures to keep students in order.

Plan and oversee class projects, field trips, guest visits, and other experiential activities, and facilitate student learning from them.

To maintain and develop professional competence, attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training courses.
