2020 KCPE, KCSE Certificates Sent To Schools For Collection
Candidates who took their national exams in 2020 have been advised to pick up their certificates.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) issued a statement requesting that the candidates visit their respective schools.
“The 2020 KCPE and KCSE certificates have already been delivered to schools,” the statement reads.
The 2020 KCPE/KCSE certificates were delivered to the Sub County Directors of Education (SCDE) offices last week.
School heads were directed to collect their respective certificates from the SCDE’s offices.
The council advised students with questions to visit the KNEC portal.
“In case of any non-conformity, queries should be logged through KNEC Query Management Information System(QMIS),” the statement reads.
Following the disruption of the school calendar caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the exams were administered in March 2021.
Female students from public schools dominated the KCPE 2020 exam.
Faith Mumo took first place with 433 points. She attends Kari Mwailu Primary School in Makueni.
Nanzala Wesonga of Chogoria Girls Primary School came in second place with 432 points.
Angel Murithi came in third place with 431 points. She shared first place with Samuel Wanyonyi.
8,091 candidates received more than 400 points, 282,000 received between 300 and 399 points, and 589,000 received 200 to 299 points.
In the KCSE, the top candidate was Murang’a High School’s Robinson Wanjala, who received an A of 87.334, followed by Agoro Sare High School’s Allan Wasonga (87.173).
While announcing the results, Education CS George Magoha stated that 893 students received As in the 2020 exam, compared to 627 in 2019.

The CS also stated that Turkana county had the most overage candidates. Bungoma had the most candidates under the age of 18.
Candidates under the age of 16 are considered underage. There were just over 143,000 people who received a C+ or higher.
