Kenya’s two largest banks have responded to the clarion call by confirming the largest private sponsorship of public schools to date.
On Saturday, August 6, KCB Kenya and National Bank pledged to sponsor 1,000 public schools across the country to implement a KICD-approved coding curriculum.
“We would therefore like to confirm our commitment to support the government’s effort in this regard by committing to sponsor 1,000 public schools across the country under a pilot phase.“
"We shall increase this commitment progressively as we go along with the pilot,” said KCB Group Director for Retail Anastacia Kimtai.
The Group, according to Kimutai, welcomes the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), a hands-on education system that she claims will shape learners’ career paths in line with the needs of the evolving digital space.
